LEGAL ASSISTANT

(open until April 20th, 2022)

Who we are looking for:

Energetic, experienced full-time Legal Assistants to work closely with our lawyers and paralegals, primarily in the areas of family law, administration, and bookkeeping.

 

What you need:

  • High level of professionalism and strict ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information;

  • Experience in delivery of legal or other administrative services;

  • Highly developed organization and communication skills;

  • Maturity and confidence in managing multiple tasks and priorities, as well as the ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment;

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, exhibiting a high level of attention to detail;

  • Strong keyboarding and computer skills with a high level of accuracy and proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel;

  • A strong work ethic, delivering service with energy and enthusiasm;

  • Preference will be given to graduates of a recognized post-secondary paralegal or office administration program, and/or applicants with specific experience as a legal assistant;

  • Ability to communicate in German would be an asset.

  

What we need from you:

  • Prepare correspondence, presentations, and documents of a legal and non-legal nature;

  • Act as a point of contact to ensure clients have the appropriate information including file updates, process or procedural changes, and other general matters;

  • Opening new client files and updating client records;

  • Organize, and maintain files in the firm’s filing system, electronic shared directory, and in the file/document management databases;

  • Ensure that files/filing is up to date and brought forward for review by lawyers as required;

  • Communication with clients and others, including answering phones, emails and responding to inquiries;

  • Bookkeeping duties including client invoicing, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable.

 

What you will receive:

Competitive salary commensurate with experience in a range of $30,000-45,000, as well as:
